These are types of dressage 'tests' requiring different numbers of horse/rider combinations riding the test in tandem. The quadrille is ridden by 4 horses/riders; the pas-de-deux is ridden by 2 horses/riders; the pas-de-trois is ridden by 3 horses/riders.
